Shop KYDEX® thermoform sheet for making knife sheaths and holsters, from one-off DIY builds to production runs, plus lightweight, waterproof carry gear. Pick from 27 haircell solid colors, metallic Liquid Metal, see-through Vapor, and Cordura®-faced EDC Wrap® sheets, from .028 to .125 gauge and from a small 8in x 8in piece up to a full 2ft x 4ft sheet.
A molded knife sheath or holster starts as a flat piece of KYDEX® thermoform sheet. Warm it to approximately 300°F to 375°F, mold it around the knife or gun in a forming foam press or on a vacuum former, and trim the edges once it cools, and it holds that shape for good while staying lightweight and waterproof. Type-T, the thermoforming grade, is our standard stock for both sheaths and holsters.
With Solid Colors, your sheaths and holsters can be any of 27 shades in non-reflective, scratch-resistant P1 haircell, or Black in either the PC texture or the V103 grade. Semi-translucent Vapor comes in Desert Glass and Frosted Glass, and either tint lets the knife or gun show through. Liquid Metal adds a high-gloss metallic shine in seven colors such as Copper, Pewter, and Rose-Gold. EDC Wrap® sheets arrive with Cordura® cloth already adhered edge to edge on a .080 KYDEX® base, so a finished sheath or holster has fabric on the outside.
Solid Colors spans every gauge from .028 to .125, while the other three lines are .080.
