The 550 paracord is braided nylon with internal strands you can pull out when a flatter wrap suits the handle. A handy sizing rule is one foot of cord per inch of handle, so a 4-inch handle takes about 4 feet. Colors run from Black, Coyote Brown, and Battle Drab to neon shades and camo patterns such as Woodland and Desert Digital, and several colors carry a reflective tracer that shows up in low light.
The lace cord suits tanto-style and tactical knives. It appears in Kirby Lambert's Japanese Cord Wrapping video, and with Titebond™ adhesive it sets into a hardened wrap.
