Bone, Horn and Mammoth Ivory Knife Handle Material
Shop knife handle scale sets in buffalo, sheep and ox horn, dyed camel bone, resin-stabilized bone and fossil mammoth ivory. Pick flat top, smooth or jigged scales in natural and dyed colors, or build a hidden tang handle from buffalo horn tapers and rolls, bone rolls, camel bone pen blanks and horn spacers.
Buffalo horn scale sets come flat top, bark, swirled or jigged, 3.50in to 5.00in long, in colors such as Black, Honey and Wine Red. A second line has a wolf, turtle, peacock or other animal hand-carved into the horn. If buffalo horn scales show natural warping, wrap them in a warm, damp cloth and set them in a vice. Ox horn sets in Blond or Burnt Bark are resin stabilized and flat ground underneath. Sheep horn sets are air-dried, pattern matched and photographed one by one, so the pair you see is the pair that ships.
Camel bone scale sets are dyed under pressure so the color runs through the material, and many colorways are resin stabilized too. Styles include flat top, smooth radius and peach seed jigged, in solid, double-dyed and triple-dyed colors. Resin-stabilized bone comes as Coral, Pink and Watermelon scale sets and as smooth or twisted flute rolls in Coral, Jade or Watermelon. Mammoth ivory sets are genuine fossil ivory, graded and photographed, with the listed size giving the pair's minimum usable measurement.
Black buffalo horn also comes as a smooth taper and a solid 4.25in x 1.125in roll. Horn spacer discs in Black, Wine Red or Honey Brown are available as a 1-pack or 10-pack, and camel bone pen blanks in Black, Orange, Red and Turquoise suit pen bodies and inlays.
