The Burr King® 960-272, The Knifemaker's Edge, is a 2 x 72 grinder with a pivoting cast aluminum frame, contact wheel, platen and slack belt. Versions run 1.0 to 2.0 HP at fixed or variable speed, with an 8 or 10 inch wheel. The BK944 attachment makes it a three-wheel vertical grinder, and it can be mounted on a fixed or variable height pedestal. For fullers, choils and finger grooves, add a small wheel attachment or a lower-cost small wheel arm, plus 9/16 to 1-1/2 inch urethane contact wheels for the BK1277 arm.

The American-made Kalamazoo® 1SM takes 1 x 42 belts, with a full guard on the 1SMS and a vacuum base on the 1SMV. Our Horizontal Finishing Attachment II turns the 1SM horizontal for radius grinding, clean scratch lines and finishing flat handle material. The 2FSM and vacuum-base 2FSMV run 2 x 48 belts, the 2FS and 2FS72 are motor-ready frames, and the 2FS72M runs 2 x 72 on a 1/2HP motor and mounts vertically or horizontally.

The nonmagnetic bevel jig, made for a Creative Man file guide (sold separately), holds blades up to 11 mm (0.4 inch) thick at an angle set by two thumb nuts. Find 2 x 72 and 1 x 42 belts under Abrasives in Knife Tools, or tell us your grinder model to check attachment fit.
