Let’s begin with the scales. Place both bolsters on the liners as shown and fasten with button head screws

Cut an angle on the front of both scales to match the bolster.

Clamp a scale on one liner as shown with the end tight against the bolster. Drill thru both
holes in the liner using a #51 (.067) drill. Be careful. Don’t use a larger drill because you may
damage the threads in the liner.

Remove the liner and drill thru the 2 holes using a #46 (.081) drill. This is the clearance drill for the screws.
Repeat both these steps for the second scale.

Very carefully set a depth stop on your drill press so that you can counter-bore the holes for the screw heads. Use a 9/64 drill for this and counter-bore both holes in the scales.

Rough saw the scales to match the profiles of the liners. Assemble the knife without the blade and
grind or file the handle scales to match the liners and bolsters.

Remove the scale on the left side; assemble the blade and the second washer, and the pivot pin screw.

Put it all back together again and sand and polish to suit.
