Anvil surface
Saw

Sandpaper
Belt sander (if available)

-------------------------------

These are the parts that we’ll be working with for this project.

Start by polishing the front of the bolsters. This cannot be done once the bolsters are mounted
on the handle without marring the finish on the blade.

Select 4 pins and shorten them until about 1 pin diameter sticks out on both sides of the bolster. If they are too long
they may bend while peening.

Peen both sides equally until the heads won’t mushroom any more.

File or grind the bolster to shape.

Draw around the handle on the scale slabs.

Clamp one scale in place on the handle and drill one hole thru the existing holes in the handle.

Put a pin thru the drilled hole to keep the parts from shifting, and then drill the second hole.
Repeat for the second handle scale.

File or grind the handle to shape.

Soak the scales in wood sealer if desired.

Mix 2-part epoxy and cover all the parts on the inside. Clamp securely.
Clean up the blade if necessary using denatured alcohol.

Sand and polish to suit.

A heavy coat of paste wax rubbed in using #0000 steel wool, then buffed dry will protect your new knife.

Congratulations!
You now have a beautiful new Modern Skinner
