Adhesives and Threadlockers for Sheaths and Holsters

Shop sheath and holster adhesives that fuse thermoform seams, hold leather layers together and lock the screws in your hardware. The lineup runs from M-Weld™ and E-Weld™ seam solvents and Eco-Flo® Leathercraft Glue to Vibra-Tite™ super glue, a retaining compound and threadlockers in strengths from removable to permanent.

Thermoform seams on a sheath or holster can be fused chemically with solvent. Pick M-Weld™ when the joint should end up rigid and clear, or the transparent, honey-tinted E-Weld™ when a clip or seam needs a little movement after curing. Spread an even coat on both facing surfaces of KYDEX®, HOLSTEX® or Boltaron® sheet, and give the seam its full 24 hour cure before you drill or sand it. Eco-Flo® takes care of the leather side, bonding sheath layers with a water-based glue that dries clear and can be sanded and polished.

Knife pivots and handle hardware that should stay put call for a permanent Vibra-Tite™ threadlocker such as 131 or 140, and the red 135 brings that high strength in a gel, each made for fasteners up to 1 inch. Where a screw will come back out for service, the removable choices start with purple 111 for set screws under 1/4 inch and step up to blue 121, the 125 gel and oil-tolerant 122 for fasteners up to 3/4 inch. VC-3 Threadmate dries pliable, so a screw you adjust can be reused. The green 541 compound handles a different job, holding bushings and sleeves in their housings. For handle inlays, Vibra-Tite™ super glue in gel or liquid form grabs wood, leather and fiberglass mat within 15 seconds.

If you are weighing threadlocker strength for a pivot or a holster attachment screw, our team can talk it through with you. Equipment for the other stages of a build is gathered under sheath and holster making tools.
