Hardware for Making Knife Sheaths and Holsters
Shop knife sheath and holster hardware for flaring KYDEX® layers together, riveting leather, attaching clips and adding finishing touches. Eyelets and double cap rivets fasten the layers, Chicago screws and slotted posts mount clips and attachments, snap sets add closures, and countersunk washers and swag hole medallions give the sheath a finished look.
Joining the layers comes first, so start with eyelets and rivets, where a flared eyelet holds two sheets of KYDEX® or HOLSTEX® together and a double cap rivet joins two pieces of leather or canvas with a clean look front and back. A belt loop or clip goes on next with mounting assemblies, from Chicago screw sets to HOLSTEX® slotted post kits and a Tactical Mounting Assembly for Tek-Lok style systems. To build your own stack, pair slotted, pass-thru, T or double binding posts with flat, oval, pan, truss or button head screws, then add EPDM washers, finishing washers or clip spacers from washers and spacers.
Hybrid holsters and chest rigs start from holster backers, whether a cowhide hybrid backer with a built-in sweat guard, MatchPoint USA's mesh-grid EDC backer or a multi-mount chest carry backer with over 280 mounting holes. Chest and thigh strap rigs also use the 1.50 inch metal mounting ring as a secure anchor point for straps and webbing. Closures come from snap sets in Line 20, Line 24 and Pull-the-Dot styles, while cord, chain and webbing adds waxed thread for hand-stitching leather, lace for braided lanyards and stainless ball chains for neck knife carry.
Finishing details go on last, with swag hole medallions in military, first responder and skull designs that mount through a #8 eyelet or rivet hole, and press-fit studs topped with a brass ball or nickel spike. Screws from the CKK Designer Line thread onto 8-32 posts and put a decorative head on the finished sheath. For a new sheath layout, our team can suggest eyelet lengths and post sizes to suit your layers.
