Sanding and Polishing Tools for Sheaths and Holsters
Shop grinding belts, abrasive sheets and buffing supplies that take a knife blade from profiling to mirror polish and leave sheath and holster edges smooth. Choose from Combat Abrasives® ceramic and J-Flex belts, aluminum oxide belts and 8 inch discs, wet/dry sheets up to 2000 grit, flap wheels, foam sponges, Maverick™ belt sticks and compounds, and Airway™ wheels.
At the grinder, Combat Abrasives® 2 x 72 belts run from 24 grit ceramic Shredder for fast stock removal to 600 grit J-Flex for contouring handles, with X-Flex for general metalworking and scalloped edge belts in a 1 x 72 size for slack-belt grinding. Aluminum oxide belts from 120 to 600 grit refine bevels and shape handles, in 2 x 72 or a 1 x 42 size that fits standard sanders such as the Kalamazoo 1SN. The Maverick™ grease stick keeps 24 to 120 grit belts cutting during rough grinding, and the natural rubber cleaning stick, held against a running belt, clears loaded steel, wood or G10.
Sheath and holster edges in KYDEX®, HOLSTEX®, Boltaron® or Concealex® clean up on non-woven flap wheels in 400 to 800 grit, 4 or 6 inches across. For hand work, wet/dry sheets come in aluminum oxide from 120 to 2000 grit or silicon carbide in 60 and 80, and foam sanding sponges follow curves and contours. The 8 inch hook-and-loop discs in 120 to 600 grit change out quickly, and four conditioning belt grades, Brown coarse through Gray ultra fine, clean and blend metal with a gentler cut.
To bring a blade to a mirror, buff on a 16-ply Airway™ red treat wheel with Maverick™ Black, move to the pink treat wheel with Green Rouge, then finish on the soft white wheel with Purple Rouge.
