Gent’s Companion Parts Kit, Desert Ironwood Scales, 7/32 Mosaic Pin Stock
Let’s start by sanding the bolsters flat.

Shorten the two larger pins so that they are two pin diameters longer than the width of the bolsters when on the knife. Insert both pins thru the two bolsters and handle. Peen over the heads on both sides.

Saw the two scales roughly to shape, and then finish the end of the scale that fits against the bolster. This kit had bolsters that were cut at a slight angle, so check carefully. Clamp one scale to the handle as shown. Drill two of the small holes using a #39 drill, then place a pin thru both holes and continue to drill all the smaller holes.

The reason for putting the two pins in place is to make sure the pieces remain aligned as you continue. Now drill the two #2 holes for the mosaic pins. Repeat for the second scale.

Use a small countersink bit to put a small countersink in all the holes on the inside of the scales. Sand the insides flat.

Coat all surfaces on the inside with 2-part epoxy, insert all pins, and clamp securely. Let cure.
Saw the pins flush with the handle, then shape and finish the handle.
