The Master Series Kydex Press is shipped without a roll pin for the base plate on purpose. This is not a mistake, it is by design.
We have conducted extensive testing and have found that locking the base plate in a fixed position (using the roll pin) greatly increases the chance of damaging the rivets as they are rolled off-center. By creating a free-floating base plate design, this allows the lower die to self-align to the eyelet during the rolling/flaring process.
