Titanium and Stainless 4-40 Screws for Folders
Shop 4-40 screws for folder frames and knife handles, from lightweight SK Design and CKK Design titanium to stainless Torx heads. The titanium screws and a black oxide Phillips flat head come as a 1-pack, while the three stainless Torx head styles are sold in 25-packs.
Titanium keeps weight down on a folder and resists corrosion. Steve Kelly designed the SK Design shallow socket head, made in Montana, to seat flush where a standard socket head would sit too deep, so a tight frame needs little material removed. It comes in 0.250 and 0.375 inch thread lengths with a head just 0.060 inch tall. For a heat-colored accent, the CKK Design button and socket heads in 6AL4V titanium can be torched to match the knife, and both have a 0.250 inch thread. The three titanium screws take a T-8 Torx driver.
In stainless, the T-8 flat head at 0.250 inch sits level with the surface, and the T-8 button head keeps a low, rounded top at 0.250 or 0.500 inch. The USA-made T-10 socket head is 302HQ and cut shallow, so less depth has to be removed from the surface.
Knife handles mounted with #6 Chicago screws can take the black oxide Phillips flat head in their place or next to them, set into #4 finishing washers. It is stainless steel under the black oxide coat and measures 0.365 inch from the head surface. For other thread sizes, see all of our knife screws, and our team can talk through head size and length for your frame.
