This is the process where you finely polish the sharpened cutting edge of the blade to realign and remove the excess metal material created in the sharpening process (burrs, etc.). When completed, stropping will ensure that the blade's leading edge will flow effortlessly through the material being cut. It will also vastly extend the life of the sharpened edge. Stropping is the difference between good and great cutting performance.
The CKK professional strop is a 2-sided top-grain cowhide leather paddle design. It is 16-3/4 inches in overall length and 3 inches wide, a perfect size for use on any blade length or width. It features a through hole in the handle for bench rotational mounting or can be hung with either the handle hole or lanyard (included). The top grain cowhide leather used in this design is 8-9 oz and has both vegetable-tanned and suede surface options for maximum stropping performance.
