In a matched set the guard and pommel are cast in the same metal and made to go together. The guard slides onto the tang through a pre-cut slot that can be enlarged to fit, and both pieces have slipover cavities for flexible handle fitting. Slot lengths run from 0.335 inch on the Engraved Cobra sets to 1.00 inch on the Rope Pattern sword sets, so check your tang against the slot given on the product page.

Three sets are cast for swords, the Bear Head and Claws set in nickel silver and the Rope Pattern sets in brass or nickel silver. For daggers, the Engraved Dagger Set in brass carries scroll work, and Dagger Set II in nickel silver has Celtic-style knot work. The Duck and Fox sets engrave the animal on the pommel buttcap, and the Stipple Engraved Scroll sets include lanyard mounting.
