Every kit in the series starts with a 3.375-inch clip point blade precision-ground from cryo-treated AUS8 stainless steel and heat treated to RC 54–56 for dependable edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The satin finish and hollow grind create a clean, refined appearance while maintaining the cutting performance expected from a practical utility knife. At 0.125 inches thick, the blade strikes an excellent balance between durability and nimble handling.
This is a hidden tang, half-tang construction system designed to work exceptionally well with a wide range of handle materials. Antler tips, stag tapers, hardwood blocks, resin rolls, stacked materials, and hybrid handle designs all pair naturally with the Scout's compact profile. The tang features a pre-drilled 0.093-inch hole for secure attachment using pins, mosaic pins, hidden bolts, or other custom fastening methods. Each kit includes stainless steel pinstock, along with a brass slide-on finger guard and matching brass pin for a classic finished appearance.
Builders can choose the blade-only configuration for complete creative freedom or select one of the combo kits that include a premium handle block. Available handle material options include Black Limba, Bloodwood, and Katalox, allowing craftsmen to choose a look that ranges from light and dramatic to rich and traditional.
