The Ace Gut Hook Knife Kit Series delivers a compact fixed blade platform designed for field performance, controlled handling, and fully custom finishing work. Centered around a 3.25" hollow-ground blade with an integrated gut hook, the Ace provides a proven foundation suited for skinning knives, hunting tools, everyday field carry, or collectible custom builds with real functional purpose.
Offered in multiple USA-made Damascus configurations, each variation shares the same balanced geometry and consistent construction layout. This allows you to focus on shaping the finished build while selecting the handle material configuration that best matches the look, feel, and character you want the final knife to carry.
Each Ace Gut Hook blank features a 1.25" wide blade profile and three through-holes for handle attachment, with stainless steel pinstock included for secure assembly. The tang layout can also be modified to accommodate larger pins or threaded fasteners, giving builders additional flexibility during the finishing process.
The series is available both as a blade blank only configuration and as combo kits that include premium hardwood handle scales. Available scale options include Canarywood, Curly Maple, Lacewood, Mahogany, Purpleheart, and Yellowheart—each offering its own distinct grain structure, color profile, and finished appearance.
Every blade in the series is crafted from USA-made layered carbon steel Damascus using a five-fold process that produces 416 total layers. The steel configuration combines 52100, 5160, 203E, and 15N20 to create bold visual contrast alongside dependable cutting performance and edge retention. Heat treated to 56–58 RC, the Ace platform is built to perform as hard as it looks.
