At the heart of every SG4 kit is a premium 440C stainless steel blade that has been heat treated to RC 56-58 for excellent edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. The blade features a crisp factory grind and a refined 600-grit satin finish that delivers a clean, professional appearance while providing an excellent starting point for further customization.
One of the most appealing aspects of the SG4 is its versatility. Advanced builders can modify the final grind, reshape the blade profile, or alter the tip geometry to create a truly custom knife tailored to specific hunting, skinning, or utility applications. The blade design provides an ideal foundation for both functional working knives and showcase-quality custom builds.
Every SG4 kit includes engravable stainless steel bolsters, stainless steel bolster pins, stainless steel handle pins, and all of the essential hardware needed to complete your project. The full tang construction features dedicated holes for bolsters, handle scales, and a rear thong hole for lanyard installation.
Choose the blade blank version if you prefer to supply your own handle materials, or select one of the combo kits that includes premium hardwood handle scales to simplify the building process. Available handle material options include Bubinga, Canarywood, Curly Maple, Lacewood, Mahogany, Purpleheart, Walnut, and Yellowheart.
