At the heart of every kit is a premium 440C stainless steel blade that has been heat treated and cryogenically treated to achieve a Rockwell hardness of RC 56-58. The 3.60 inch tactical Bowie-style blade features a 600 grit satin finish and an integrated thumb rest for enhanced control during use. Combined with a precision button lock mechanism, the result is a smooth-operating folding knife that delivers reliable lockup, fast deployment, and everyday performance.
The DDR3-BL utilizes heat-treated stainless steel liners and precision-machined internal components to provide exceptional strength and dependable operation. The liners are pre-channeled, allowing experienced builders the option of incorporating a custom slide safety if desired. Every component is manufactured to provide excellent fit and function while still allowing the builder to personalize the finished knife.
This product family includes multiple configuration options to suit every level of customization. Builders can choose the standard parts-only kit and supply their own handle material or select from combo kits that include carefully selected hardwood handle scales. Available handle materials include Bubinga, Canarywood, Curly Maple, Lacewood, Mahogany, Padauk, Purpleheart, Walnut, Wenge, Yellowheart, Zebrawood, and other premium hardwoods depending on the model selected. Some variations include unmilled handle scales for complete custom machining, while others include pre-machined oversized scales that allow for sanding, shaping, finishing, and personalized detailing.
