At the heart of every Bobcat kit is a 2.75-inch hollow ground blade crafted from AUS-8 stainless steel enhanced with vanadium for increased toughness and edge retention. The blade is cryogenically treated and heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of 56-58 RC, delivering excellent cutting performance and long-term durability. The satin finish provides a clean appearance while reducing glare and highlighting the blade's sleek profile.
The Bobcat utilizes a traditional lockback mechanism that provides smooth action, dependable lockup, and safe operation. The bolsters, lockbar, backspacer, liners, pins, and related hardware are manufactured from 416 stainless steel for excellent strength, corrosion resistance, and ease of finishing. When assembled, the knife measures approximately 6.375 inches open and 3.625 inches closed, making it an ideal size for pocket carry.
Available configurations range from a complete parts kit for builders who wish to create their own scales to combo kits that include premium hardwood handle materials. Depending on the variation selected, builders can choose from Bubinga, Canarywood, Bloodwood, Lacewood, Mahogany, Purpleheart, Walnut, Wenge, Yellowheart, or Zebrawood scales. Several versions include pre-machined scales that simplify the build process while still allowing ample room for sanding, shaping, finishing, and customization.
