The Astro Skinner Knife Kit Series delivers a compact fixed blade platform designed for lightweight handling, aggressive styling, and clean custom finishing. Centered around a wide 3.65" hollow-ground blade and an ultra-compact 6.00" overall length, the Astro Skinner provides a modern skinning knife foundation built for control, maneuverability, and standout visual character.

 

Each variation in the series shares the same USA-made Damascus blade construction and compact full tang layout, allowing builders to focus on handle shaping, finishing details, and customization while selecting the handle material configuration that best fits the intended final appearance.

 

Every Astro Skinner blade features a broad 1.85" profile with precision internal cutouts engineered to reduce weight and improve balance without sacrificing strength. The result is a compact platform that feels agile in the hand while maintaining strong cutting capability for utility and skinning applications.

 

The tang includes two 0.125" through-holes for handle construction, with stainless steel pinstock included for assembly. Builders can also modify the tang holes to accommodate larger hardware or threaded fasteners for additional customization flexibility.

 

The series is available both as a blade blank only configuration and as combo kits featuring premium hardwood handle scales. Available scale options include Bubinga, Curly Maple, Lacewood, Mahogany, Purpleheart, Walnut, and Yellowheart—giving each finished build its own distinct grain pattern, color contrast, and overall personality.

 

Every blade in the Astro Skinner series is crafted from USA-made layered carbon steel Damascus using a five-fold process that produces 416 total layers. The steel configuration combines 52100, 5160, 203E, and 15N20 to deliver dependable cutting performance, strong edge retention, and bold Damascus pattern definition across the blade surface. Heat treated to 56–58 RC, the platform is built to perform while maintaining the unmistakable visual depth expected from premium Damascus steel.
