Loctite® 680
Retaining Compound
LoctiteŽ 680 is one of the new breeds of retaining compounds
from loctite. We have used it in several applications
and found Loctite 680 to be a superior product. LoctiteŽ 680 Retaining Compound is a high strength, room temperature
curing adhesive used to join fitted cylindrical parts.
It fixtures in just 10 minutes and provides a shear
strength of 4000 psi on steel after 24 hours. Capable
of filling gaps up to 0.2mm (0.008"), product 680 can
reduce costs by allowing relaxed machining tolerances
and replacing clamp rings, set screws and snap rings.
Applications: LoctiteŽ 680 is the best compound we have
found for retaining pivot screws, gun screws and high
vibration parts. We recommend Loctite
7649 to clean
and prep your screws and parts before assembly.
